Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

2008 = 10 races, 3 PR's, 1 first place in age division

I started running in 2006 at age 38/39.  I figured the best way to kick the smoking habit for good was to sign up for a marathon.  (I tend to be alittle extreme)

My first full marathon was the Chicago Marathon 2006 (cold, rainy year) 5:00

Full Marathons: Chicago, Kentucky Derby

Half Marathons:  Indy, Chicago Distance Classic (3 times cool medal), Holy Half (Notre Dame), IU's Inaugural, Joker's Wild (St Louis), Oak Brook Half (ugly medal),Valparaiso Mini, Flying Pig, Virginia Beach Rock N Roll  Times ranging from 2:30 to 2:00.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I really would like to qualify for Boston in 2009.

Personal:

I'm married to an incredible guy, Brian for 20 years (21 in May)!!  We have an amazing 17 year old (soon to be 18) daughter, Heather.  The two are my support system and cheerleaders.

Was this a race? You should enter it as a race report. How did it go for you? I think it was 1/2 weekend. There were lots of 1/2's raced :)

Yes. I'm not sure how to enter in race report. It went awesome. 2:05:38 Wasnt my fastest time, wasn't my slowest time but it was my easiest time.

By the way, thanks for the comment, I was beginning to think I was all alone.

you're NEVER alone :) To enter a race report, you check the box next to where you enter your mileage for the day. It will change the screen to a race report screen. Voila! :)

Your time is AWESOME! 2:0_? was my goal for HObble creek half next weekend... until i got injured :(

Hey... it worked! Thanks for the tip. How'd you get injured?

From marion on Fri, Aug 15, 2008 at 23:56:54

I pulled my left calf muscle. I think it was a sprint I did on already stresses calves. I have learned a ton and hope not to repeat this injury again ;D

Ouch! Just reading that made me scringe. Hope you have a quick recovery. Hey I just popped over to your blog... 6 KIDS (realistically probably seven including the husband). You are truly blessed.
