Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

2008 = 10 races, 3 PR's, 1 first place in age division

I started running in 2006 at age 38/39.  I figured the best way to kick the smoking habit for good was to sign up for a marathon.  (I tend to be alittle extreme)

My first full marathon was the Chicago Marathon 2006 (cold, rainy year) 5:00

Full Marathons: Chicago, Kentucky Derby

Half Marathons:  Indy, Chicago Distance Classic (3 times cool medal), Holy Half (Notre Dame), IU's Inaugural, Joker's Wild (St Louis), Oak Brook Half (ugly medal),Valparaiso Mini, Flying Pig, Virginia Beach Rock N Roll  Times ranging from 2:30 to 2:00.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I really would like to qualify for Boston in 2009.

Personal:

I'm married to an incredible guy, Brian for 20 years (21 in May)!!  We have an amazing 17 year old (soon to be 18) daughter, Heather.  The two are my support system and cheerleaders.

Ok, they finally posted the results.  I just wanted to confirm with my watch before blogging.

Here's a breakdown of the race, (never seen mile marker 1,3, & 4)

Mile 1 & 2 =  17:18

Mile 3,4,5  =  28:08

Mile 6  =  9:30

Mile 7 = 10:28

Mile 8 = 9:46

Mile 9 = 10:13

Mile 10 = 10:43

Mile 11 = 10:30

Mile 12 = 10:20

Mile 13 = 11:33

It wasnt as hilly as they made it out to be but wasn't flat either. Nice combo.  Jen ran it in 1:51.  :)

a.m. Red and I went out for a slow run.  He really didnt want to go....I had to tug him out of the garage, but once we hit the road he was fine.  My ankle is sore almost like I sprained it. I'm not sure why, I haven't even twisted it.

p.m. What a perfect night for a run. 65 degrees and rain .... downpour.  I absolutely love running in the rain and splashing in the puddles.  Ran in Rolling Prairie with Greg, Jen and Rick.  Refreshing.  We were completely soaked. Not sure how long it's going to take my shoes to dry out.  It wasn't raining when I packed my clothes this morning, so I packed my new shoes (less than 100 miles on them). Grrrr
