Running Accomplishments:

2008 = 10 races, 3 PR's, 1 first place in age division

I started running in 2006 at age 38/39.  I figured the best way to kick the smoking habit for good was to sign up for a marathon.  (I tend to be alittle extreme)

My first full marathon was the Chicago Marathon 2006 (cold, rainy year) 5:00

Full Marathons: Chicago, Kentucky Derby

Half Marathons:  Indy, Chicago Distance Classic (3 times cool medal), Holy Half (Notre Dame), IU's Inaugural, Joker's Wild (St Louis), Oak Brook Half (ugly medal),Valparaiso Mini, Flying Pig, Virginia Beach Rock N Roll  Times ranging from 2:30 to 2:00.

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

I really would like to qualify for Boston in 2009. 

 

Personal:

I'm married to an incredible guy, Brian for 20 years (21 in May)!!  We have an amazing 17 year old (soon to be 18) daughter, Heather.  The two are my support system and cheerleaders.

A.M. Ran 6.2 miles 1 hour 2 minutes. Started off extremely slow, felt better after  2-3 miles finished strong. Could have kept running if I didnt have to get ready for work.

Lunch Weight Train:  Back and 1 set leg curl just getting back into weight training legs, plan to take it easy.

P.M.  I've just recently started speed training with my husband coaching from his bike along side.  This evening was feeling sore enough decided to skip the workout.

A.M.  Couldnt get out of bed in time. 5 am comes pretty early

P.M.   Ran a 5k route around the lake with my friend and new runner Kelly.  Hamstrings are alittle tender.

Ran with my more experienced runners tonight.  Took a while to warm up but the rolling hills of Rolling Prairie helped.

Ran with Greg, Jen & Rick in my territory (flat land).  Finally starting to get some warm weather but what a difference it is with the running.   I'm glad they met at my house because I wasn't feeling 100% this morning and probably would have skipped out.  I took a couple walk breaks and held back alittle.  Afterwards it always feels so great.  My pool is still extremely cold so I dipped my legs in knee high and took a 20 minute ice bath.  My calves have really been sore lately, not sure what's going on. It's hard to decide if I should block it or back off.

Walked with 2 non-running friends in the hills of Alabama.  Atleast it was some form of exercise. Although I could have covered more ground by myself. It was nice to have the company and they tried their best.  I would have dropped them off and started running but we had a time restraint.
