Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

2008 = 10 races, 3 PR's, 1 first place in age division

I started running in 2006 at age 38/39.  I figured the best way to kick the smoking habit for good was to sign up for a marathon.  (I tend to be alittle extreme)

My first full marathon was the Chicago Marathon 2006 (cold, rainy year) 5:00

Full Marathons: Chicago, Kentucky Derby

Half Marathons:  Indy, Chicago Distance Classic (3 times cool medal), Holy Half (Notre Dame), IU's Inaugural, Joker's Wild (St Louis), Oak Brook Half (ugly medal),Valparaiso Mini, Flying Pig, Virginia Beach Rock N Roll  Times ranging from 2:30 to 2:00.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I really would like to qualify for Boston in 2009.

Personal:

I'm married to an incredible guy, Brian for 20 years (21 in May)!!  We have an amazing 17 year old (soon to be 18) daughter, Heather.  The two are my support system and cheerleaders.

Went around the school block, I always thought it was 4 miles, I think it may be closer to 3.75 miles.  Took Red (dog) with me, thought we'd just go for a nice walk, he acted like he wanted to run.  So it turned into a slow run. We stopped a few times so I could cool him down with some water since his tongue was about to drag the ground.  We finally made it back, he laid down and slept most of the day. Hope I didnt break him.  Was planning on going out later for another round (by myself) and possibly some biking (bicycle) but instead took off with friends for a motorcycle ride to dinner.

how's red? Nice miles and I think your form of biking (motorized) sounds like fun!

I think Red's alittle sore. I rubbed his legs before calling it a night. He must have slept the whole night - didnt even eat his dog food. This morning (Monday) we walked 3/4 mile, he looked alittle stiff but it worked out. (And he didn't hide behind my car in the garage when I came out in running clothes.)
