I started running in 2006 at age 38/39. I figured the best way to kick the smoking habit for good was to sign up for a marathon. (I tend to be alittle extreme)
My first full marathon was the Chicago Marathon 2006 (cold, rainy year) 5:00
Full Marathons: Chicago, Kentucky Derby
Half Marathons: Indy, Chicago Distance Classic (3 times cool medal), Holy Half (Notre Dame), IU's Inaugural, Joker's Wild (St Louis), Oak Brook Half (ugly medal),Valparaiso Mini, Flying Pig, Virginia Beach Rock N Roll Times ranging from 2:30 to 2:00.
Short-Term Running Goals: I really would like to qualify for Boston in 2009.
Personal: I'm married to an incredible guy, Brian for 20 years (21 in May)!! We have an amazing 17 year old (soon to be 18) daughter, Heather. The two are my support system and cheerleaders. Favorite Blogs: |

I think I may have a tibia stress fracture. I've be fighting a pain in a very distinct place for atleast a couple of months. Havent said anything to anyone because I don't want to quit running. But it has come to the point where I may have to take some time off so I can train hard at the beginning of the year for a spring marathon. I'm debating on going to the doctor or just diagnosing myself. I really don't like spending money at a doctor's office when they're going to tell me something I'm pretty sure I know....but I'd hate to take the time off from running for something that may not exist (although it seems very real). I'm driving my family nuts because I finally told them what I thought was wrong and that I was going to take the month of December off only from running, (I'm scared of gaining weight and/or losing my fitness level). Yesterday (Monday- I forgot Im catching up on blogging) I could cry at the drop of a hat because I made the decision. Day 2 (Tuesday) I'm back to the denial stage. Maybe it's all in my head. | Add Comment |

Well I did it. I called and got an appt with the sports medicine doctor for Monday. Decided along with the persuation of a couple of friends its better to know what exactly is wrong. That way I won't be questioning my decision for 4 weeks. Makes sense. Just hate to spend the money.
Went to a Powercut class tonight with Kelly. It was fun, made me realise how much strength I've lost since I haven't been strength training (5 days a week like I used to). The class didn't bring my heartrate up but it did tax my muscles.
I'm feeling antsy. It's going to be a loonnnnggg wait til Monday. Actually I might get on the gazelle for a while.

| 20 minutes on bike at gym. Yuk. I got on the elliptical for a couple minutes, got busted by hubby. Just wanted to see if it would cause any discomfort. | Comments(1) |

| I'm pretty sure this is the most pathetic week of miles I've had since I started running. 2 more days til I find out if I really have to take it easy. Say a little prayer for me. | Comments(3) |
